Last night after a vacuuming homestead with old heavy vac due to roomba not charged, I was looking forward to bed. To be more detailed my adjustable bed, for my back.
Thing is I notice a few days ago the remote wasn't working. Light comes on but....nothing. To start with easy fix I put batteries in. Nope. Got down on hands and knees, plug is in. Follow cord, plug into the little boxy thingy. :) I'm not a electrician. Those plugs are in, tight.
Mind you this frame is low to the floor but I picked up the rechargeable flashlight I keep by my bed, always plug in....nope, not plug in. Cussing I plug it in, laid on my belly, thinking I need to dust the tops of the plastic totes....and do I even need what's in them since it's been so long? Candles mostly....but the orher....stop. Focus!
Tried flashlight, enough light to see no wires hanging loose. Ok....giving up I made sure flashlight plug in. As it also used to boost battery off and since its been 3 weeks since I start my old car, might need it. The negative temperatures might of drain the old gal.
So up I get, cussing. While the bed is 5 years or so old, not used every night. Just when back hurts. Not a lot of motor hours. Damn it...but I bought it from local furniture company that has service dept. They was really good to work on sisters power lift chairs I bought.
So called this morning. Switch to service. Told him all I did, and that motor had low use. He informed me sounds like child lock on. In my head, and out my mouth, I said " A whata?" Child lock. Well if I did, I did not know it as didn't know it had one. Thinking.....why would it? Then images of baby head going splat.....ok, I see why.
He explain how to remove the lock. Sounds easy enough. " how did I even put it on?" Most likely pushed all the buttons. Laid on it. Well yes, I agree. Have woke up to the remote in ..uhhh...places. " Or maybe when it gets slung across the room as I throw off blanket mid hot flash?" He laughs, yes, maybe. Warn me remote not made for slinging.
To try to reset tonight. If not they will set up service call next week.
Didn't want to tell him the couch eats my remotes too.
